For the most solid feeling shot around, try a Predator Pool Cue. Their patented C4 core technology sets this manufacturer apart from the rest. These cues are also unique for their Uni-Loc joint system and Leather-Luxe wrap. With all of these advancements, you will become a predator in the pool hall.
With the C4 core, four wedge pieces make up the core of the shaft to increase its stability. This eliminates negative vibration for a smooth, more accurate shot. You will feel like you are playing with a one piece cue due to the tight fitting Uni-Loc joint. This is a one-turn-on, one-turn-off system. And in those intense games, you won’t feel any moisture on your Leather-Luxe wrap. This 3-layer system pulls sweat into the inner layer and releases it protecting your cue and your grip.
Some of the most popular Predator cues are the Ikon Series and Sneaky Pete’s Pool Cues. Don’t forget a Predator Break Cue with special 10-piece splicing construction to eliminate negative feedback on those hard-hit shots. Protect both your playing and break cues with a Predator Cue Case.

When searching for the perfect pool cue, you obviously want to look for a cue that is well-made with good function. The appearance may also be a major factor in your selection process. In addition to good quality, you may want a cue with a look that sets it apart from the rest.
One company that is infamous for their well-made and attractive looking products is Viking Cues. This manufacturer has been crafting high-quality cues since the 1960’s. All of their products are made in the U.S.A. Viking is one of the oldest and top cue makers in America. The warranty they provide to back their products is also a benefit to their customers.
The Viking G69 cue is a very popular modell. The unique look of this pool stick is responsible for attracting it much attention. The butt is made up bird’s-eye maple with a decorative ebony inlay. The forearm is lined by maple rings to complement the design.
This cue is produced at a standard length of 58 inches. However, at your request, Viking can add up to 3 inches on both the shaft and/or the butt. The length can be shortened as well, but a cue length of at least 52 inches is recommended. You may incur an additional charge for these length modifications.
Viking also allows you to specify the desired weight and shaft diameter of your cue, if desired. The standard weight of the G69 is 18 oz to 21 oz, but you can request a number in this range within increments of quarter-ounce. An adjustable weight-bolt system is included.
Viking recommends that you have the weight adjusted by an authorized dealer, like CornerPocketPool.com, rather than doing it yourself. Shaft diameter is a standard 13 mm unless you otherwise indicate. The range of potential diameters is between 12 mm and 13 mm in quarter millimeter increments. The company makes these adjustments for you at no additional charge.
A few other attributes of the G69 include:
• Joint B High Impact Plastic to Stainless Steel
• Quick release 5/16 to 5/18 joint-pin
• Pro-taper shaft of 12 to 14 inches
• Standard LePro hard tip

When looking to purchase a pool cue, many different brands and styles are available to choose from. Cuetec is a company that produces cues that stands apart from other manufacturers. These cues have an advanced composition that provides many benefits to the owner. Best of all, they are sold at an affordable price.
Cuetec cue models are constructed of a solid wood core surrounded by a synthetic composite of graphite or fiberglass. This design seals the wooden core protecting it from warping. These cues are able to maintain their straightness and, as a result, optimal function over time. The resistant exterior reduces scratches, dings, and dents that are common with wooden cues. The presence of the inner wood core maintains the same smooth shot that the traditional all wooden cues provide.
Several features are available, to customize these cues to meet your specific needs. An adjustable weight bolt system is present, so that you can alter the heaviness of your cue. With this feature you can try out different weights to get a feel for what is perfect for you. Another useful feature is the smart extension that can be used with the newer models. This helps to eliminate the use of a pool bridge and bring the more difficult long shots within reach.
Most Cuetec models are sold at prices ranging from $100 to $500 dollars. Even at these reasonable prices they are made with high quality materials. They are used by players at all levels from beginners to professionals.
Cuetec cues have been found to have added durability while maintaining the feel of a solid wooden pool cue. Their design and customizable features set them apart from traditional cues. They can be purchased at an affordable price in a variety of models, colors, and designs to help personalize them to exactly what you are looking for.

There are many factors that go into making you the best pool player you can be, but one of the most important is getting the right cue. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a pool cue.
The ideal weight
Getting a cue that is the correct weight for your skill level can advance your game. A heavier cue, weighing 20 or 21 ounces, is recommended for a beginner because it stays on line better. Heavy cues are less likely to drift with a not-so-perfect stroke. As your skills develop consider moving to a lighter cue, 19 ounces or less. Lighter cues allow you to better control the speed of the cue ball. You may also want to check to see if a weight bolt is built in for adjustments.
Sizing up the tip
Pool cue tips range between 11-14 mm with the standard cue tip being 13 mm. The standard size is best for beginners. The tip width can be decreased with experience allowing for more precise control of spin. The tips come in different degrees of hardness. Softer tips give a better feel of the shot when starting out. Harder tips do not become flattened as easily as soft tips. On a more professional level, harder cue tips are needed.
Personality of your cue
Often a person will enjoy choosing a certain decorative inlay or color to further personalize their pool cue, but this may increase the price. On the other hand, many people prefer more simple beginner cues that do not draw as much attention to themselves. You must decide which is best for you.
Amount of investment
Consider the amount you are willing to invest on a cue based on your level of play. Brand name cues tend to be more affordable and best for beginners. A good quality mass produced cue usually sells for around one hundred dollars and up. Cues can also be custom made and can sell for several hundred up to thousands of dollar. As your level of expertise increases, then a more expensive or even custom made cue, like a Schon Custom Cue, may become more practical.
After evaluating these aspects, you should be able to better select a pool cue that is suited to your needs and level of play. Try out different types of cues to find what you like. Most importantly make sure you find a cue that you feel comfortable and confident using.
