Hard Cue Cases

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Once you have found your perfect cue, you will want to make absolutely sure that you keep it safe from damage. You want your cue to last as long as possible. Of the types of cue cases, hard box cases offer the most rigid cue protection possible. These cases can also be found at a very affordable price.

Hard cases are the most traditional. They are box-shaped with hinges on one side. They are most commonly constructed of leather, vinyl, or plastic. Divisions inside the case hold the butt and shaft separately. Some have a section for tips, chalk, and other accessories

Schmelke Box Cases come in a variety of colors and exterior finishes. These durable cases are covered in vinyl.  The different looks include black alligator, plain black. brown, and burgundy. They are all lined with soft brown fleece to enhance the safety of your cue.

Cues Cases

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Once you have invested in your perfect cue, you will need a case to protect it. Three basic types of cue cases are available: hard box, soft, and tube. Many people choose their cue cases by brand name. For instance, if your cues are made by Cuetec, you might want to check out Cuetec Cases. You want to select the type that is most easily transported plus keeps your cues the safest.<

Tube-type cases are most commonly used among players. They consist of a cylinder or oval of hard material covered with padding. The exterior of these cases is often leather or vinyl.  Many cases have large pockets on the outside so you can carry your cue accessories, such as chalk and tip tools. They offer excellent cue safety, and are a comfortable means of transport or storage./p>

Several top cue companies make cases to keep their cues safe.  Talisman Cue Cases, Instroke Cue Cases, and Giuseppe Cue Cases are some of the most popular brands. If you want the best of both worlds when it comes to protection and ease of transport, look into one of these cue cases.

Why Use Pool Cue Cases To Protect Your Stick?

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

As you begin to play pool more often, perhaps in local billiards leagues or at a semi-pro level, you’ll want to make sure that you protect whats probably your most valuable “tool of the trade”… your pool cue.

Pool cue cases are available in a wide variety of styles, materials, and shapes, but some of the more popular models include instroke cue cases, Giuseppe cue cases, and viking leather cue cases.

There are many items to consider when selecting a pool cue case, but some of the key features to look for include:

- durable interior protection

- ample storage options with pockets for billiard accessories

- lightweight, damage-resistant, and oversized tubes for pool butts and shaft

- fully insulated interior allowing for slowed acclimatization to temperature changes

- high-quality and durable exterior materials such as leather or vinyl

- reinforced stress points with industrial strength rivets

- large pockets with easy access to accessories

- side and top handles with fully adjustable shoulder straps

- design that allows for pool butt and shafts to be stored with the joint up or down

Additionally, there are several different types of cue cases including:

Hard Cases - These are the most popular types of cue cases, and typically provide the most protection.  These type cases can vary in size, with the smallest being a one butt/one shaft case, allowing you to carry one cue butt and one cue shaft in the case. Cases can go as high as three butt/seven shaft but are most commonly found in the two butt/two shaft and two butt/four shaft variety.

Soft Cases - These type cases are good for beginning players using starter cues or for short term storage.   Although they do not feature the impact resistent protective tubes that you find in hard cases, soft cases do keep each shaft and butt in separate compartments to protect from damage. Also, soft cue cases do not typically feature as many exterior pockets as do hard cases, so you won’t have as much room for your accessories, and are less expensive.   Soft cases typically come in the one butt/one shaft variety, but you can get soft cases as large as two butt/four shaft.

Box Cases -  The third type of case is the box cue case. Box cases have a more “classic” or “traditional” look, which is one of the primary reasons that players buy box cases. Many box cases are built in a briefcase style, complete with heavy-duty latch style fasteners. Some of the higher-end box cue cases can also feature combination locks for additional security. From a protection standpoint, box cases will provide a similar level of security as compared to a hard case, and provide an excellent protective option for new to professional level pool players.

Take the opportunity now, before you accidentally damage your pool cue, to purchase an affordable pool cue case that best fits your personal needs.

CornerPocketPool.com offers a large, in-stock inventory of the most-popular cue cases and have trained customer service representatives, on-staff, to help you find protective leather pool cue cases that best suit your use and needs.
